Musical Theatre Production is a one semester course where students are given the opportunity to work on a full scale musical. All of the arts coalesce to create a dazzling masterpiece to excite all of the senses. This musical theatre course is interdisciplinary and designed to produce selected musicals integrating the arts areas of dance, music, theatre and visual arts. 

Production aspects include training in voice, acting, movement and dance focusing on performance techniques. Course work culminates in two productions at the end of each semester. This class is open to all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Participation is by audition only.

MISSION STATEMENT

Musical Theatre Production Ensemble is open to all 10th -12th grade students and is the performance vehicle devoted exclusively to the development and mounting of Broadway-quality musicals. The mission of the Musical Theatre Production Ensemble is to provide the experience, high expectations, and professionalism necessary for all musical theatre performers. Acceptance is by audition only. Students are cast based on the merits of their audition and the needs of the production.

LACHSA

The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) offers a specialized program combining college-preparatory academic instruction and conservatory-style training in the visual and performing arts. Founded in 1985, the tuition-free public school is run by the Los Angeles County Office of Education in partnership with, and on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA).
